Well made and easy to use.
These are perfect little pulleys that turned out to be ideal for my application. I used them to suspend 4’ fluorescent fixtures above seedling starter trays (see pics) to get a jump start on my spring plantings. I hung them from eye bolts and nuts that are secured to 1” PVC pipe. The cords are high quality and the pulley housing appears sturdy and substantial, yet lightweight. The locking mechanism works very well and the instructions on how to use them (one pair per package) are right on the packaging and makes sense. I gave a solid tug on them and the lock didn’t give at all. Very pleased with this purchase and would buy them again and recommend them.

    I went from using stands for fluorescent seedling lights to using these ropes hanging from ceiling hooks for my new LED seedling lights (tomatoes and peppers) and couldn't be more pleased. They work exactly as advertised and seem quite sturdy. The ratcheting mechanism seems solid and easy to release to lower my lights. Added benefit: The ropes are long enough that I can loop them through the ceiling hooks so that pulling on the free end actually RAISES the fixture, so no need for ladders over my seedling tables after installation!

    In the world of hydroponics, it is sometimes difficult to judge whether a particular item is best bought online or at the store. It can definitely go both ways, with quality and price fluctuating greatly between the two. In this case, the light hangers are definitely best bought from these guys online. I have bought over a dozen of these from both lowballer and from my local shop. The ones from the shop were cheaply made with the hooks held on by simple knots, which actually resulted in me losing a light and severely damaging a plant in an epic battle with gravity. These hangers from lowballer are made with quality with secure metal fasteners keeping the rope in place on the carabiners. The ratcheting pulleys work flawlessly and have given me no problems.

    I have purchased so far five sets of these. They work great, and they are so much better than having to use chains. Though I will mention, that for those using them for growing seedlings on 6' shelving units with lights, you may have difficulty raising them up high enough when your plants start getting bigger if you are using 3 shelves. There is about 6" run where it clips on the the top of the shelf, which effectively takes away 6" of height.

    This is not a problem when your seedlings are smaller, say 8" to 10" high, but if you are going to grow them bigger inside under lights, you will probably have to use a S hook to get them higher when your plants get bigger But understand, if you don't have height constraints for them, you will have no problem at all..

    This unit works great and the plants seem to be doing well. I'm growing micro greens and they appear healthy. With regular fluorescent lights, you see the "green" of the plant but with these everything looks pink. That's different but as long as they work, it's all good. I'll but doing some hydroponic lettuce after the greens. Gives of very little heat as well. Great purchase.

    Edit: Oops, I made a mistake here. I was reviewing an LED light. This clips are great, however. I'd give them a 5 star.

    These are awesome if you have grow lights over your fast growing plants. I sometime feel like my tomato plants double their size overnight so these are like light nannies, they closely follow every step of you veggie babies.

    I also used them to hang light decor in a professional theatre show. They're perfect to adjust the height in a pinch! You just have to convince the technical director of the venue that they are safe because they are not legally rated. But, trust me, I'm an engineer (ok, a sound engineer...) But, hey, they can hold a surprising fair share of weight. I tested it over 100 representations and they never failed me.
