These are great! I have A LOT of tomato plants I ...
These are great! I have A LOT of tomato plants I started through the winter and was quickly running out of pots to put them all in. I couldn't find any inexpensive pots, even just the growers pots were a bit much for 25-30 grown plants (we won't discuss the 20 or so more I have starting also). These bags were perfect for what I needed! I really could have used just the 5 gallon bags though - these are pretty big, but because they're bags, I just folded them in half and only fill them halfway for the smaller plants. Once they get bigger I can always fill it more. This size also tends to be a bit wider than tall which makes stability of taller plants a bit awkward, but that can be worked with. They are a bit difficult to move once they're filled, and you can't slide them, but they are durable! We picked them up and moved them in the room and will move them outside in another month, so it's not impossible. The holes were a bit of a challenge since we're not out of the threat for frost yet and have to keep the plants inside still, so I put "piddle pads" in the bottom and water lightly twice a day instead of heavily once. Once I can move them outside, I'll start watering normally again and poke the holes through the pads to allow them to drain again. I would recommend these for people who just need a pot, nothing fancy. I will definitely be buying more for the same purpose. Excellent price if they were a one year use, but I think I'll get several years out of them if I don't beat them up.

I bought these to take advantage of some extra paved are next to my raised garden beds. I filled the bags with a more acidic soil mix for potatoes, so it is super handy to be able to keep that soil segregated.
The material is heavy duty but not indestructible like a dedicated reusable soft sided planter. Once filled more than halfway, lifting the bag from the top edge seems like it may cause the plastic to tear. Best to fill the bags once you have settled on your location.
The bags do sag quite a lot from the weight of the soil compared to the seller’s pictures. The actual shape when full is much more bulged out and settled.
No obvious signs of damage from sun exposure yet. There were no tears from sticks or rocks while filling and adjusting the bag’s placement. I expect that I will be able to use these several times at least. Good value for an unexciting but useful product.

THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE FOR ME. AS I GROW FROM SEEDLINGS (400 LAST YEAR) I NEED TO HAVE A CHEAPER, EASIER TO HANDLE OPTION FOR MY TRANSPLANTS. I HAVE USED 1,2 AND 5 GALLON SIZES. THEY LASTED ALL SUMMER SEASON AND I WAS ACTUALLY ABLE TO REWASH TO REUSE IF NEEDED. THEY HAVE GREAT DRAINAGE AND HOLD GOOD AMOUNT OF SOIL. These bags make great planters. The base is wide enough to support short plants on their own, but taller plants might need something to stabilize them and keep the bag from falling or leaning over.

They are heavy duty enough to use as permanent, but also could be temporary pots used between other sized pots.

They make repotting very easy if you are willing to sacrifice the bag. You can make a few cuts across the bottom and sides of bag, making it easy to tear, then place the whole bag into your new pot and fill soil under and all around. Then rip the bag into 2 or 3 pieces and pull it completely out of the new planter. This is how I transplanted a few plants without disturbing the existing roots or soil, and these are cheap enough that I didn't even feel bad throwing a couple out after a month or two.

I love these bags. They work really well. It's nice to be able to roll up the excess at the top instead of wasting soil filling up solid containers. They drain really well. The best part is they don't make your greenhouse or wherever you're growing look like a trash pile. They hold their shape and stand up in their own. I was going to use plastic buckets until I found these, do I would have had a bunch of plants in mix matched buckets. With these bags, everything looks so uniform. And they can be put in a planter or pot and it can be shaped to fit. I hate putting solid containers in pots because it looks weird if it's not a perfect fit. I even used a gallon sized bag to put acidic soil in for a rhododendron and put it in a bigger planter with ph balanced soil and it looks like all the plants are in the same container. They are also handy if you want to plant an arrangement of plants with different water needs!

Works good for one round of growing potatoes in north Texas spring and beginning of summer, and when I harvest most of bags ripped easily so couldn't use again. Would have liked to have had at least a full year of being able to grow in them, but if you just need them for a single potato grow, then they are great

These bags are a good value. You can use them again next year (if they last) or throw them out. They're a lot easier to store than large pots, and they're much less expensive. These are real benefits. Unfortunately my dogs think organic fertilizer is like crack, and they've been destroying the bags to get at the fertilizer. They've even gotten into the portable greenhouse to dig away at the bags. They chewed on the plastic greenhouse cover and snuck in. They just can't stay away. As a result, I've had to rebag multiple plants with torn bags, and we've put a barricade around the portable greenhouse. The bags are cumbersome to move, too. Even without my dogs, I wish the bags were more sturdy. I thought they would be made with a more durable plastic, which is why I rated with 3 stars. Next year I'll pay more and get real pots to discourage my dogs, or fabric bags with handles for easy moving. Going into this I didn't think my dogs would be the pests I would have to control. If you have dogs, consider getting sturdy pots.

Some reviews hlmay have complained about the thin material, or that it's shorter than smaller models, or that the bottom isn't flat.
These people simply don't have patience and perhaps not enough soil to fill all these. You might be able to see a tear on one of them but that's because I tried to move the bag without much thought. I adapted and bearhug it from the base to shift them.
The bottoms flatten as you fill soil and adjust the bag as you fill it to level it out.

I emptied two of my big compost bins and 3 big bags on promix in these 7 bags and look... They are fine. I'm quite happy so far.
I got them in hopes they would keep the plants cool through the high heat of summer and lack of water when we go away on weekends, although I will add irrigation soon.

Buy them... They're easy to use, they work well for what they are and they keep the plant soil cool. I touch the outside of the bags in the heat of the day and they are cool to the touch.

I folded the lips inward for additional cooling support, unlike the ad photo.

I didn't think these were still made was super excited to find some!
To all the reviews stating they don't drain and cause root rot... The bags are peppered with holes in the bottom for drainage and need to be elevated slightly (indoor in a tent) to drain properly.
These have been all I have ever used !
Cheaper than buckets start low and roll the bag up and top dress from seed , no more transplanting start in one container

    10/5 stars will buy again!
Ps- take a thumbtack and poke holes in the side instand air pruning bag 👍
Also recommend putting stakes in with soil for added structure!
