I am using these to start paw paw seeds. They are exactly what I expected. They do not stand up on their own, but this is easily fixed by placing them inside of a sturdy container such as a plastic tote, and putting them side by side so they support each other. Breathable fabric. Does not appear to rip easily. Great value for the price - I used about two dozen and still have plenty left over for starting any trees or plants in the future.

Excellent for the purpose
I ordered the "7 x 14 inch" size. Filled with potting soil, they form a cylinder with a flat bottom about 4 in diameter x 12 in tall. I've used them at full capacity as well as rolled down to about 3 inches. I like that I can plant the container directly in the ground without disturbing the roots. Since they are some kind of fabric the roots don't stay damp so they don't rot. I water them every day to every several days depending on the amount of soil. They appear to have enough strength for the purpose. I've used 10 or 12 so far with no plant fatalities. I would recommend them to a friend. Pic 1. Avocado from pit ready to plant. 2. Tomatoes from seeds. 3. Basil from cutting from a Thai restaurant.

So far, so good! I have used 15 of the bags to propagate fig cuttings. They are sturdy and perfectly tall enough and wide enough to easily fill. I am bottom watering and am curious to see how the roots behave with this fabric.

Furthermore, if you all the roots to penetrate the bag, getting the plant loose will be a chore.
These are useful though. Nine will fit in a milk crate exactly. If you are in need of a lot of pots for tap rooted plants cheaply, these will do. You must remember to check them regularly and trim any roots poking through promptly. More importantly move them to a proper container as soon as possible.
The following picture is of a third season dwarf apple rootstock in a similar grow bag. It was planted as a sprouted seedling, and then field planted in a deep bed for future use. As you can see, the bag is still whole and unaffected by years underground.

These are working out great for my tree seedlings. Compact size but tall for tap roots. Can either remove plant from bag, or cut out bottom and plant directly. Highly recommend.
